This Foundation has been a dream of mine for almost a decade and this is why...

I have probably accomplished more in my personal and professional life and in volunteer work than I may have otherwise.  While working in various capacities to help the amputee community for over 20 years,  I founded and have led the San Antonio Amputee Support Group since 1997.  I have had the honor of serving the Amputee Coalition of America while on the board as well as various committees. I led a successful grassroots legislative effort for a Bill that now mandates more fair insurance coverage for prosthetic limbs in 2009.  Most importantly, I have made it my mission to meet and support hundreds of new amputees as they began their emotional and physical journeys.

I currently work as a licensed clinical social worker in the prosthetic field. I have earned a BA in Behavioral Science (minor in Criminal Justice) from California Polytechnic University, an MA in Psychology from Pepperdine University, and a Master's degree in Social Work from Southwest Texas State University.

Throughout my personal journey to healing after my accident, I have been loved, supported & empowered by so many people that now this is my turn to continue paying it forward...
